Perfect Buttercream Frosting Recipe

Do you need the perfect buttercream recipe for cupcakes…sugar cookies…ANYTHING? I have finally mastered the Perfect Buttercream Frosting Recipe Recipe and found the one. This will work on any cookie or sweet treat that you are making. The best part is you can add in as many variations as you want and this is a great starter frosting. Om Nom.

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 egg
  • 5 or 6 tablespoons half and half or heavy cream

 Step 1: Cream your butter and vanilla together. (Cream Directors: Place softened butter in your mixer or a bowl with a hand mixer. Beat with electric mixer for at least one minute until you achieve a “fluffy” consistency). See my pic below, loves!

Perfect Buttercream Frosting Recipe

One cup at a time with the mixer on low, add in your sifted powdered sugar. IMG_0872With the mixer still running on low, add one tablespoon at a time of your half and half or heavy cream. Use 5 tablespoons for a stiffer frosting (best for cupcakes) or 6 tablespoons for more of a glaze (cakes/some cookies). I would stick to 5!

Let your mixer do the work! Turn that baby on med-high and whip your frosting until it forms a beautiful peak.

 

You can use this frosting for ANY recipe and it is perfect. It will not stick your baking goods together.
